What will the Sunday services like?

The 9:00am Worship is a Casual Traditional Services.  We have music from our Chancel Choir and sing traditional hymns.  Communion is served every Sunday.  Typically our 9:00am service has the largest attendance.

The 10:30am Worship is a Contemporary Service.  Our Praise Band leads us in contemporary songs of worship and Communion is served weekly.

The Noon Service is a Tongan Service, and is in the Tongan language and culture. On the first Sunday of the month our Tongan Community worships at the 9:00am service, and their is no noon service.

Must I be a member of Trinity UMC to partake in Communion?

In the United Methodist Tradition Communion is open to all.  From children to adults, members or first time worshippers all who come are welcome to take part in this Holy Mystery.  The Methodist tradition is to service grape juice rather than wine as part of this openness.  Read more about the United Methodist’s stance of Communion here.

Is there a dress code at Trinity UMC?

Wear what makes you comfortable. It is Arizona and it can get hot!  We encourage you to wear what makes you feel comfortable.  When you worship with us you will find people in a whole range of dress, from shorts and sandals to formal dress.  Typically our English services (9:00 & 10:30am) are casual, our Tongan service (noon) is in the culture and traditional dress of Tonga. We encourage you to come as you are and experience the love of Christ.

How early should I arrive for service?

On your first visit we encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of worship.  This will help you not feel rushed in finding a parking space and navigating around our campus. Between services we invite to hang out and have a cup of coffee at our Coffee Cart (during the summer the cart moves indoors, because it is just too hot in Phoenix to hang outside and drink coffee.)

Where do my children go during service?

All are welcome in Worship Service.  In our 9:00am traditional service we encourage children to worship with us. At our 10:30 Contemporary service the children begin in worship and stay for our Young Disciples time. this is a special time for the children. After the Young Disciples time the children are invited to either remain in worship or attend Sunday School. To find out more about our children’s Sunday School program click here

We invite you to come and see who we are and what we are all about.
